With revolutionary towels that have started a worldwide trend, what awaited these two towel entrepreneurs in the Dragons' Den
ENTER THE DRAGONS' DEN
Earlier this year, Andy & Benno walked into Dragons’ Den to pitch Dock & Bay to a panel of five wealthy investors in front of a full team of camera crew whilst standing proudly next to their beloved towels.
Dragons' Den is the British equivalent of Shark Tank in USA and Australia.
Although daunting, they walked out alive, and on the 10th September you will all get to find out exactly how it went when it is shown on BBC TWO TV at 9pm.
How do you think they fared?
THE STORY AS TOLD BY ANDY
Going into Dragons’ Den has to go down as the most surreal moment of my life. However prepared Benno and I were, we couldn’t prepare ourselves for walking into a room of successful entrepreneurs worth a combined total close to £300m. I’m still happy if I find £10 in my trousers.
When the producers told us we were ‘up next’, our mouths dried quicker than even our towels ever could. After a few initial hiccups, an hour and a half in the Den and being grilled on every part of the business, we walked out with the result we wanted and have worked hard to achieve. As well as a few grey hairs.

After being put through the ringer by the Dragons, we came out the other end with our pride in tact and a new friend as well (Deborah!). To receive 3 offers from highly respectable business people who work with highly successful global brands is just awesome and vindicates the years of work and the risks taken to bring our beach & travel towel concept to life.

MAKING THE QUICK-DRYING BEACH TOWEL
Founded by Andy (UK) and Ben (Australia) in 2015, Dock & Bay have taken the traditional cotton towel and completely reinvented it for the better.
As travellers, they realised a traditional beach towel was too big and bulky while abroad, and standard travel towels were small and dull, and couldn’t be used at the beach. So they set out to make a product that they could be proud of and use while backpacking to all corners of the globe. As budding entrepreneurs, they took it upon themselves to look at how their newly-created product could be shared with the millions of travellers, beach goers, families and yoga lovers out there.
